- Statistics - Psych 114 cmc (before exp. psych)
- Experimental Psych - Psych 100 (before sr. year)
- Practicum in Exp Psych - Psych 101L (taken with 100; one-half credit)
- Brain and Behavior - Psych 145 cmc
- Physiological Psych - Psych 146L cmc
Requirements for Biology section:
- General Biology - Biol 43 & 44 (JS-Joint Science)
- Physiology - Bio 131-JS (human phys.) or
Bio 142-POM (mammalian phys)
- Two upper div. bio electives:
- For ex: Cell bio, genetics, neurobiology, animal behavior
Chemistry requirements:
- Intro chem - Chem 14 & 15 (JS)
- Organic Chem - Chem 116 &117 (JS)
Math requirments:
THESIS:
A 2 semester thesis involving an empirical study in an
appropriate area of psychobiology. The thesis will be directed
by two readers, one in Psychology and one in Biology.
Recommended courses:
- Intro Physics - phys 30 & 31 (JS) (NOTE:required for pre-med)
- Biochemistry - chem 177 - (JS)
Careful planning needed for this major because there are 16
reqired courses (18 for pre-med). Psychobio senior theses are
done with the other science theses in the JS Dept. Honors in psychobio
is an award made by the JS Dept.
